As with procedural dramas, Ellis introduces new guest actors for each feature-length episode, meaning there are plenty of new faces to meet in each installment.

Who is Chief Inspector Ellis? Ellis, originally from London, is one of the city’s top homicide detectives, so to use her expertise, she is parachuted into various Peak District towns to help find the criminals. Often ignored and dismissed because of her age and race, Ellis remains determined in her work and uses her intelligence to get to the bottom of these complex cases.

Speaking about her role, Clarke says: “This woman had to have real strength of character. She should be able to just focus on what she’s doing and not get caught up in all the nonsense that’s going on around her. Because this happens not only in the station, but it happens in life.”

What else has Sharon D. Clark starred in? Clarke is a three-time Olivier Award winner and is known for a variety of stage roles, but on television she is best known for her roles as Lola Griffin in Holby City and Grace O’Brien in Holby City. Doctor Who. Most recently she starred in Lost Boys and Fairies, Demonstration test And Mr. Loverman. On the big screen, Clarke starred in Rocket Man, Rocks and Red, White and Royal Blue.

Who is Sergeant Chet Harper? Station Sergeant Hanmore, whom Ellis meets in the first episode, Harper always remained in the same place among the same people – that is, until he met Ellis and began learning how to become a better detective. Together they travel around the Peak District, but are not always welcomed with open arms.

Describing Harper and Ellis’ relationship, Gower says, “They don’t know how much they need each other until it becomes very obvious. I think it’s a master and a disciple, but I also think they’re completely different people. We’ve always said: Harper asks the questions Ellis doesn’t want to ask.”

What else has Andrew Gower been in? Gower is known for his roles as Cutler in Being Human, Prince Charles Stuart in Outlander, and Rupert Parker in Outlander. Miss Scarlet and the Duke. Most recently, Gower starred in You season 4 and Carnival Row.

Who is ACC Alison Leighton? Ellis’s boss, Alison, is the first to encourage the detective to go to Hanmore in the first episode to help them with their case. She is the one who ultimately decides where Ellis should go next.

What else has Allison Harding been in? Harding has appeared in Nova Jones, The Bill, London Burning and as part of the ensemble cast in Mamma Mia! Here we go again.

  • Freya Hannan-Mills (“Cuckoo”) as Maggie Bradley, a teenager whose boyfriend Rowan is found dead and has disappeared.
  • Kay Wragg (Holby City) as Linda Bradley – Maggie’s mother who works tirelessly to find her daughter.
