On Wednesday evening, due to a technical problem, the Tallink Silja passenger-car ferry Baltic Princess stopped for a couple of hours in the Åland archipelago.

Swedish tabloid Expressen reports this that on the way to Stockholm the ferry dropped anchor near the municipality of Sottunga in the Åland Islands shortly before 23:00, according to the head of communications at Tallink Silja, Marika Neud.

The Baltic Princess followed the regular route Turku-Mariehamn (Åland)-Stockholm. Nøyd said about 400 passengers, mostly from Finland, were on board at the time of the incident.

The company did not specify what the technical problem was, but said that the crew managed to fix it and after a couple of hours the ferry was able to continue its overnight flight to the Swedish capital.

“Everything is fine, the passengers are probably happy, the ship’s services and everything else was working while the boat was being repaired,” she told the newspaper.
