EastEnders star shares hopes for Kat and Alfie’s reunion after kiss

EastEnders star Shane Richie shared his hopes for a reunion between Alfie Moon and Kat Slater, before the surprise kiss next week.

Ex-couple struggles to cope with their son Tommy’s cruel and abusive behaviorand the dramatic events of last week led to the teenager being removed from the house. temporarily live next door to Zach Hudson.

Although Kat and Alfie are on good terms again, next week Kat is still at odds with her family over Jean Slater’s secret phone call to social services – so Alfie makes it his mission to get the Slaters to reconcile.

His plan is a success and he manages to turn the tide at a difficult social services meeting with Tommy later that week. Alfie gives a rousing speech that reaches his son and also reawakens old feelings in Kat.

“Alfie doesn’t notice, but Kat is sitting there hanging on his every word,” Richie said. “It resonates with Tommy and the social worker, and Alfie was just being Alfie, just telling it like it is.

“No frills, just saying we love you and will be here for you. I think Kat remembered why she fell in love with Alfie 22 years ago.”

With plans to bring Tommy home, Kat is grateful to Alfie for his support and, back at the flat, he is surprised when she kisses him.

Richie explained: “Alfie doesn’t see this coming at all! When they return, he sees that Kat’s eyes are a little droopy, but he doesn’t quite understand what’s wrong. He had no idea because Kat spent weeks reminding him that they were just friends and she had no feelings for him.

“But then Kat kisses him, and she kisses him the way she would have done before, and it completely turns Alfie’s world upside down!”

Afterwards, both Kat and Alfie receive advice from their loved ones about the confusing situation. It remains to be seen whether they will give their relationship another chance, but Richie is hopeful that the iconic couple will reunite.

“Kat and Alfie went the other way,” he said. “But they gradually find each other again. If they got back together, they would be a real power couple because of who they are and their history together.”

“I just say, ‘Watch this place because there’s going to be fireworks!'”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One. The show also airs on BBC iPlayer, with most episodes airing early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
