Stevie Nicks regrets voting before he was 70

Stevie Nicks reveals why her only big regret in life is not voting in the US elections until about six years ago.

The 76-year-old singer recently spoke with MSNBC talk about the importance of voting in this year’s important elections and why she would like to take part in them policy earlier in life.

“I never voted until I was 70, but I regret it,” Nix said. “I’ve been saying this to everyone on stage for the last two years. I regret it, and I don’t have many regrets.”

Nix began explaining the reasons why she delayed voting and believes many others did too. “You might say, ‘Oh, I didn’t have time. I was this and that.” After all, you didn’t have an hour? You didn’t have an hour to go and vote,” she recalls.

The “Go Your Own Way” singer insists this is an election to vote because women’s rights are under threat. “No matter who wins, we must find a way to return Roe v. Wade“, she said. Nicks also mentioned that she now wants to use her platform to talk about important causes and encourage other musicians to do the same.

“In the late 50s, 60s and early 70s, everyone was writing protest songs. Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Stephen Stills,” Nicks said. “I would tell all my music poets who write songs to write some songs about what’s going on, like I did.”

In September, Nicks released a song called “The Lighthouse,” which she began writing a few months after Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022. The song is inspired by the fight for reproductive rights.

“They’ll take your soul, they’ll take your strength / If you don’t stand up and take it back / Try to see the future and get angry,” she sings on “Beacon.” “It slips through your fingers, you don’t have what you had / You’re running out of time to get it back.”

Nix added: “Whoever wins, the lighthouse must continue to shine its light and prevent ships from crashing into the rocks. This is my idea of a lighthouse as a protector, protecting all approaching boats and ships.”

She concluded with a message to people who don’t understand how important this election is: “We simply must not give up. We just need to keep talking about it.”

On September 11, the Knicks announced their support Kamala Harris on Instagramsoon after Taylor Swift also supported the candidacy of the vice president for the presidency.

“As my friend @taylorswift so eloquently stated, now is the time to research and choose a candidate who aligns with you and your beliefs,” Nicks wrote at the time. “There are only 54 days left until the elections. Make sure you are registered to vote! Your vote in this election could be one of the most important things you ever do.”
