North Korea will support Russia until “victory” in Ukraine and expand its nuclear arsenal

North Korea will stand aside Russia victory in Ukraine, Pyongyang’s foreign minister said in Moscow on Friday, as the US warned that thousands of North Korean troops could be sent to fight in Ukrainian conflictt in the coming days.

North Korean envoy Choi Song-hui was in Moscow as the West believes up to 10,000 North Korean troops are training in Russia and are on the verge of joining Russia in the more than two-year conflict.

“We will always firmly support our Russian comrades until Victory Day,” Choi said in Moscow after talks with her Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.

She said North Korea has no doubts about the president’s “wise leadership.” Vladimir Putinwhich signed a mutual assistance pact with Pyongyang this summer and significantly strengthened ties with the reclusive state.
