ROH Notes: Reigning Champion Injured, Tag Team Title Match, Faction Adds New Members

A third of Ring of Honor’s six-man tag team champions are currently on the shelf recovering from injury.

On Von Erich’s podcastMarshall Von Erich said he is recovering from a torn chest suffered when he landed on the mat after being kicked. He said he got too much air as the crowd “bloated” him.

He hasn’t wrestled since his ROH Proving Ground match in late September alongside brother Ross and Dustin Rhodes. There is no timetable for his return.

On ROH Thursday at HonorCluba future match for the ROH Tag Team titles was agreed upon, with the aforementioned Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara defending against The Righteous.

Dutch and Vincent started the show by challenging for the titles, which Rhodes and Guevara later agreed to. Later in the show, the champions saved Solomon Tupa from a beating after the Righteous Ones attacked him and Jay Marten after defeating them.

The Righteous weren’t done with Rhodes and Guevara, attacking them backstage after the promo:

The match is expected to be taped on Saturday along with other ROH action ahead of the AEW clash.

The Shane Taylor Promotions faction has grown larger since Thursday as Infantry is now part of the group.

The move was made behind the scenes when Taylor and Pure Champion Lee Moriarty approached Sean Dean, Carly Bravo and Trish Adora after previously trying to recruit them. The infantry agreed and later defeated the Spanish Ad Project after Moriarty assisted by hitting Angelico with a foreign object.
