Struggling AFC teams may not be ready to sell off valuable assets just yet.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that “multiple AFC teams” have paused trade talks and are going to wait until after Week 9 to decide whether they will trade or keep them for a possible bid.

The 2024 NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, November 5th.

There are currently nine teams in the AFC with records below .500 and six with two wins or fewer.

Only one team in the AFC East is above .500: the Buffalo Bills, as well as the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins are looking to do well. Miami finally has quarterback Tua Tagovailoa back, and his presence in the offense should make it very potent again. The Jets are already coming off a Week 9 win over the Houston Texans on Thursday night and are hoping quarterback Aaron Rodgers can steer them in the right direction.

The New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders have already dealt players early, and further moves could be made.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals have the potential to turn their seasons around, but Week 9 losses will likely push them into a sell-off.
