Superman & Lois season four is already halfway through, and there’s one big Lex Luthor moment I need to see before the DC series ends

Following the premiere of Break the Cycle earlier this week on TV schedule for 2024which lifted the curtain on Lex Luthor’s relationship with his daughter and ended with one hell of a Doomsday twist., Superman and Lois The fourth season is currently halfway through. There are only five episodes left until not only does the season end, but the DC TV show ends its four-season run. So, as we go through these final weeks, there is one major moment with Luthor that I hope is included before the series ends: he actually fights Superman.

So far, Michael Cudlitz’s version of the character has proven himself to be a brilliant man and a master schemer, with notable examples of these qualities including him using Bruno Mannheim’s serum to turn Reverse Superman into Doomsday, as well as deducing that Jordan was Superboy and using this information to fool him. Before the events of Breaking the Cycle, Luthor didn’t have to worry about getting his hands dirty either. Doomsday served as his main muscle, and the beast was responsible not only for temporarily kill Supermanbut also kill Sam Lane forever.

But now Lex Luthor no longer has Doomsday at his disposal. At the end of “Breaking the Cycle,” we learned that Lois Lane was able to recall the enormity of her past life as the Reverse World Superman and convinced him not to continue attacking her family. Luthor was understandably furious to see his henchman gone, and while I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of him tracking down Doomsday and finding a way to mind control him to do his bidding again, for now the thing has a life of its own. life. Of course, Luthor also has a lot of regular thugs that he can arm with advanced technology, but I don’t want Superman and Lois to end without him having to finally fight Superman directly.

There are several ways this can be done. First off, Lex Luthor could have just used the aforementioned technology along with some kryptonite weapons, but that’s pretty boring. I would have preferred to see Luthor wear the same armor he wears in the comics, which increases his strength and durability and also allows him to fly and fire energy blasts, among other abilities. Jon CryerLuthor got his own battle suit for Supergirlso why not follow the Cudlitz incarnation with… well, the costume (no regrets).

As much as I’d love to see it, we can’t forget it either. Superman and Lois was filmed on a much smaller budget compared to previous seasons. Due to the usual visual effects required for this series and the fact that Doomsday cannot be shown cheaply, there may not have been enough money to depict Luthor’s armor. This brings me to the third option: have Superman and Luthor fight in a good old fashioned brawl without either man using any powers.

Since he was brought back to life by Sam Lane’s heart, Clark Kent’s forces began to wane. He also has difficulty hearing, it is more difficult for him to fly long distances, and now he even gets high on alcohol. It is quite possible that Superman and LoisIn the last episode, all his powers will disappear. If that happens, it’s easy enough to imagine a scenario where he and Luthor are in the same room and the former needs to defeat the latter using human-level power. I’m still hoping for a combat approach, but I think the writers can still make this fight dramatically compelling.
