South Dakota woman abducted Mississippi minor, pleads guilty to child pornography charges

RAPIDS CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – A South Dakota woman charged with enticement of a minor and possession of child pornography changed her plea in federal court Friday.

Emily Yeary, 26, pleaded guilty to seven separate counts, namely two counts of inducing a minor to travel for the purpose of unlawful sexual activity, traveling with the intent to engage in sexual activity, possession of child pornography, transportation of obscene materials, obstruction of justice and falsification of witness testimony.

The statement of facts in the case states that Godey traveled to Mississippi from South Dakota to engage in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl back in June 2022. Godey then drove the girl back to South Dakota with the intention of being in a relationship with her.

It also says Godey tried to convince another person not to testify against her.

For his participation in these crimes, Godey could face up to 120 years in prison.
