MTN Foundation is set to celebrate a major milestone – its 20th anniversary – with a series of events designed to reflect its contribution to communities across Nigeria. The anniversary conference will be held on November 6, 2024 in Abuja and the gala dinner will be held on November 14, 2024 in Lagos.

These events will bring together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, highlighting the foundation’s commitment to sustainable development and community engagement.
Since its inception in 2004, the foundation has been at the forefront of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Nigeria.

The fund was officially launched in May 2005 when MTN Indonesia Communications PLC pledged to allocate up to 1 percent of its profit after tax (PAT) to fund various projects aimed at improving lives across the country.

Over the past two decades, the fund has invested N29.4 billion in impactful projects covering all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). With over 1,023 project sites across Nigeria, the foundation has successfully implemented 50 projects reaching over 31 million people.

Addressing critical areas such as education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and arts and culture is making a significant difference in the lives of countless Nigerians.
As part of this celebration, the foundation will unveil its new logo as well as updated mission and vision statements.

MTN Foundation Executive Director Odunayo Sanya expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming celebrations and reflected on the journey so far.

“This anniversary is both a celebration of our impact in Nigeria and a commitment to do more. We have always believed in the power of collaboration and community engagement to create meaningful change.
As we come together to reflect on our journey, we look forward to engaging with our partners and stakeholders to explore new pathways for sustainable development.”
