Residents of Rockstone will soon benefit from an improved water supply

– Construction of a new water well will be completed this month.

RESIDENTS of Rockstone will soon benefit from an improved water supply as Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) has begun drilling a new borehole in the community.

According to a GWI press release, this initiative will significantly improve water availability for residents, with a focus on maintaining essential community facilities, including schools, health centers and other public facilities.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of November 2024.
Once operational, the well will provide continuous and reliable access to water for the entire community, helping to solve the area’s long-standing water problems.

“We understand that reliable access to water is vital for any community, especially one like Rockstone where schools and health centers play an important role,” said GWI Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shaik Baksh.

He added: “This project reflects our commitment to ensuring that every resident, especially vulnerable groups and essential service providers, have access to safe and reliable water.”

The utility company will provide residents with regular updates as the project progresses.
