Adele and Celine went viral over the weekend when they shared a tearful hug during her Las Vegas residency.

Celine brought Adele to tears when she made a surprise appearance at her Colosseum show at Caesars Palace.

Adele revealed why she gave such an emotional performance to Celine over the weekend, sharing a snap on her Instagram.

“I’ve been performing at the Celine Dion Hall at the Colosseum for almost two years now. 4 weeks left! This was the only place I wanted to perform in Vegas because it was built for her,” she captioned the photo.

The 16-time Grammy winner said she keeps a photo of Dion “right next to the stage” and touches it “every night before I go on stage.”

This made Celine’s “surprise” even more special for the baby’s mother, who has long admired the music icon.

“It was a MOMENT!” Adele said that she saw a star in the hall. “@celinedion I love you very, very much. Words will never be able to express what you mean to me or what it means to have you on my show, let alone what it was like to see you back in your palace with your beautiful family.”

The Hello hitmaker concluded: “I absolutely loved being there, it was such an honor and Saturday night will be one I will remember forever.” It’s such a full circle for me to be there with you. Thank you so much .”

Footage of the performance posted online showed Adele and Celine holding each other before the English singer returned to the set and told the crowd: “Give it up for Ms. Celine Dion.”

An emotional Celine was seen wiping her eyes with a napkin before standing and waving to the audience as Adele continued to sing her hit When We Were Young.

In another clip, Adele called Celine “one of my favorite people of all time” while pointing to the singing superstar in the audience.

The Rolling In The Deep hitmaker has been vocal about her love for Celine over the years, calling her “Queen Celine” after attending one of her performances in an Instagram post in 2018.

Alongside a photo of her wearing a Céline T-shirt, she added: “What a show, an absolute moment in my life, thank you so much for listening to your audience and crazy humor.” Happy New Year, Lady X.”

Celine then reciprocated the love by sharing a photo on social media of herself posing next to Adele, who was wearing the singer’s merchandise.

She wrote: “I couldn’t attend all my shows but I was so glad Adele came to one of them… I love her so much!! – Celine xx’.

Adele returned to the Colosseum this weekend to continue her residency after a break to perform a series of shows in Munich in a purpose-built outdoor arena.

Weekends With Adele kicked off at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in November 2022 and is scheduled to end this November.

Her sold-out performances in a hall that seats about 4,000 people were a success, but also brought their own rewards.

She announced in July that she would be taking a “big break” from music after upcoming performances.

Meanwhile, Celine made a triumphant return to live singing in the summer, closing the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris amid her battle with Stymied Personality Syndrome (SPS).

She has been open about SPS, revealing her diagnosis in December 2022 after canceling a 2021 Las Vegas residency due to health concerns.

It is a rare autoimmune neurological disease that most often causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms, according to the Johns Hopkins Medicine website.

In March 2003, Celine opened her first residency at the Colosseum, where she performed 717 concerts until December 2007.

She returned to the venue for a second time in March 2011 and played 424 shows before calling it a day in June 2019.
