26th Annual Stand Down Manatee Helps Hundreds of People

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Veterans in MANATEE COUNTY got a chance for more support Saturday.

The 26th annual Stand Down Manatee event is aimed at helping veterans, but we welcome everyone from all over the Sunshine Coast. From live entertainment to a free medical clinic, Stand Down has something for everyone.

The focus is on housing assistance for veterans, especially during the height of hurricane season. Three named storms have hit the Sunshine Coast so far, and with another disturbance brewing in the Gulf, local groups want to help in any way they can.

Thanks to the support of the Tunnels to Towers Foundation and more than a dozen other local groups and businesses, Year 26 is the latest in a long line of successes for local veterinarians.
