Miranda Hart’s honest confession in five words about not having children | Celebrity News | Show business and TV

Miranda Hart shared an intriguing perspective on marriage and traditional family life.

The comedian and actress said she always thought getting married later in life would suit her better and never felt a strong maternal desire to have children.

The 51-year-old explained her role in TV shows such as BBC The One Call Midwife program has introduced it to more and more women who prefer to focus on their careers rather than starting a family.

Speaking to host Elizabeth Day on her How to Fail podcast, she said she thought she “would be a good mom” but felt her “energy” was directed elsewhere.

Hart explained that she “never had a desire” to have children.

“I’ve had weird flashes of thoughts about being a good mom, and occasional glimpses of sadness that I can’t share what I’ve learned, or can’t share something, or just experience what it’s like .

“These were just glimpses of intrigue, and not an overwhelming maternal desire to have children.”

She added: “I didn’t even think about going this route. I always thought that I would be quite happy without children.

“Maybe it was just never meant to be.”

Reflecting on some of her previous work, Hart recalled discussing the prospect of having children with some of the female cast members working on Call the Midwife.

“I remember on the set of Call the Midwife these fantastic costume and makeup people, and I noticed that a lot of them didn’t have children. I asked them about it and they said, “I feel so fulfilled in who I am and being a godmother or stepmother, or investing in my work and friendships.”

“I thought, yeah, I’m so lucky that I’ve never felt that kind of pressure or lack. We all have a purpose and we are all unique and maybe I wasn’t meant to have children, my energy isn’t meant for that.”

Earlier this month, Hart made the shocking announcement that she had tied the knot with her longtime partner Richard Fairs.

The couple met during lockdown in 2020 and Fairs later proposed to Hart at Kew Gardens.
