NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The city of New Orleans will honor hip-hop legend Lil Wayne this weekend, celebrating the artist’s prolific career and contributions to the community.

Lil Wayne, one of the most influential figures in hip-hop, will headline the highly anticipated Lil Weezyana Fest 2024 on Saturday night at the Smoothie King Center.

The event promises a star-studded lineup, including a Hot Boys reunion featuring JUVENILE, BG and TURK, as well as performances by Manny Fresh and Rob 49.

In a tribute highlighting his influence on music and his hometown, Mayor LaToya Cantrell will present Lil Wayne with the Key to the City during the event.

Additionally, New Orleans entertainment ambassador Master P is set to honor Lil Wayne with a Career Achievement Award for his contributions as an artist, producer and music executive.

The festival, which Lil Wayne started in 2015 during the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, was created to give back to New Orleans.

Over the years, it has become an iconic celebration showcasing the city’s vibrant culture and spirit.
