Stand-up comedian and businessman Charter Dixit was arrested on Sunday for crashing a Porsche at KBR Park in the city.

Hyderabad Police said on Sunday that they have arrested Dikshit, 33, a resident of Banjara Hills.

He crashed his luxury car into the fence of KBR Park in Banjara Hills on Friday morning. After the accident, he fled the scene.

The accident caused significant damage to the boundary wall, gratings and sidewalk.

According to S Venkata Reddy, assistant commissioner of police, Banjara Hills, preliminary investigations revealed that the collision occurred due to careless driving resulting in loss of control of the vehicle.

The incident occurred around 5:45 a.m. and came to light after a citizen’s call to 100 prompted patrol police to rush to the scene.

The suomoto case was filed on the basis of a statement by police officers that a red Porsche car crashed into the boundary wall of the KBR Park, crashed into a tree and caused serious damage to the wall, gratings and sidewalk.

Police officers did not find a license plate on the vehicle. A search later revealed a broken license plate inside the vehicle, registration number TS10FH0900.

“The car’s front end and wheels were damaged. The driver of the car managed to escape,” the police officer said in a statement.

The ACP said the accused was tracked down and arrested after checking available evidence and sent for alcohol and drug tests and other procedures in accordance with the provisions of law.

The police confiscated his driving license and sent it to the concerned Road Transport Officer (RTO) for disqualification under Section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The police have booked Dikshit under various sections 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 281 (careless driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Section 184 (penalties for dangerous driving) of the Motor Vehicles Act and Section 3 (causing damage). public property) Law on the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (DPPP).

The ACP said legal procedures are being followed to address both property damage and alleged wrongdoing by Dixit.
