What Jeff Brohm and Louisville’s players said after their 33-21 win over Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Louisville football program no longer loses to Clemson. Traveling to Death Valley for a primetime matchup with the No. 11 ranked Tigers, the Cardinals were finally able to defeat them, escaping Memorial Stadium with a 33–21 victory.

“Very proud of our football team,” head coach Jeff Brohm said after the game. “I think our players, our coaches have worked hard all week. We’ve had to overcome some challenges along the way. It hasn’t been perfect, it hasn’t been easy, but we continue to improve.”

“A lot of new guys came out and played hard. To go on the road in that environment, against a really good team that was hot, and just play hard the whole game. We needed to play. We played at a great pace.” We were stopped. We were very good defensively, we were just a lot better in a lot of ways, so we’re very proud of our team.”

Louisville held Clemson to just 4.5 yards per play and allowed just one touchdown on the Tigers’ first nine drives of the game. In addition, the Cardinals blocked two field goals, kicker Brock Travelstead made three field goals, and running back Isaac Brown rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown.

Here’s what Brohm, defensive end Ashton Gillott, defensive end Tyler Shaw and defensive end Quincy Riley said after the win:
