Bruins QB gives incredible on-field interview after win

The California Bruins (3-5) picked up their biggest win of the season by defeating the Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-4) on the road in a hostile environment on Saturday afternoon. The 27-20 win could have been completed without the play of senior quarterback Ethan Garbers.

Garbers threw for 219 yards and two touchdowns and was the team’s leading rusher with 56 yards on the ground. A perfect game all around, Garbers couldn’t turn the ball over and continued his career-best performance last week with his second straight Big Ten win.

The Newport Beach native sat down for a postgame interview with Rhett Lewis on the Big Ten Network. He made some incredible comments after the game and praised the entire program.

“It just feels great: offense, defense, special teams, all three parts did a great job,” Garbers said after the disappointment. “Listen to our coaching, take the instruction we get and just focus on one game at a time. That’s the most important thing in football, just take it one game at a time and everyone does their job and we’ll be successful.”

Garbers definitely took it one game at a time, as he was completely unfazed by the rowdy, sold-out crowd that Lincoln, Nebraska draws every week. He gave credit to his coaching staff for preparing him for the big game in such an atmosphere.

“I mean, we have some guys on our staff that have played in the NFL, they have a plan,” Garbers said. “All we have to do is just trust them and listen to them and they will lead us in the right direction. These guys are phenomenal, Coach EB (offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy), Coach White (quarterbacks coach Ted White), They did a great job. The whole offensive line-up is incredible.”

The Bruins turned their season around, mostly from a psychological standpoint. Yes, they may be down 3-5, but being able to gradually improve and show that this team is capable of competing in this Big Ten is extremely satisfying, and the growth they’ve made is impressive.

“We didn’t start off the year the way we wanted,” Garbers said. “A lot of mental mistakes, a lot of mistakes, but we just kept pushing, kept listening to Coach AB, kept fighting, taking it one game at a time, one game at a time. Man, it feels good to be like this.” victorious”.

It will be an even tougher test next week as the Bruins return home to face the Iowa Hawkeyes (6-3), who are coming off a blowout 42-10 win over the Wisconsin Badgers this week. Garbers will be able to show off his abilities against one of the best defenses he will face all season.
