Second gentleman Doug Emhoff stops by in Blair County.

On Saturday, local volunteers and members of the Blair County Democratic Committee joined Altoona for a phone bank event, calling Pennsylvanians to make sure they had a plan to vote for Tuesday.

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff stopped by at the event, thanking the volunteers for their work and explaining the importance of the upcoming election, especially for Pennsylvania.

He said, “Just voting can literally help us win Pennsylvania, and we’re winning Pennsylvania, you know, we’re winning this election. So this is really very important.”

He also discussed Vice President Kamala Harris’ plans for the country if elected.

He said, “Small business expansion, affordable housing, child tax credits, Medicare at home, taking care of people like me who have elderly parents and young children, these plans are practical. They work for all Americans. They’re going to cut taxes for the middle class.”

During his speech, Emhoff also mentioned former President Donald Trump.

He said, “Look how he closes it. The same chaos, the same confusion, humiliating everyone in its path. That’s what he was like when he was president.”

He concluded his speech by mentioning his faith in Vice President Kamala Harris.

He said: “It’s not difficult. People just need to see what’s right in front of them, and when they do, they’ll see what millions and millions of people see. They see Kamala Harris as the next president of the United States.”

The presidential campaign has several more stops planned across the country ahead of Tuesday.
