Andy Samberg ‘inherited’ stress again while appearing on SNL as Doug Emhoff? Here’s what the actor said

Andy Samberg returned to the Saturday Night Live stage last month, taking on the role of Doug Emhoff, who may become Kamala Harris’ first husband. Although Samberg has achieved significant heights in his career during his regular appearances on the show, he recently made a guest appearance. He received praise from the public for his portrayal of a political figure. He performed alongside Maya Rudolph and Dana Carvey.

Talking about his experience returning to the show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine star told Seth Meyers that while it was fun to be back, he inherited stress again. During actor Lee’s appearance on The Lonely Island podcast and The Seth Meyers Show, Samberg detailed his experience of taking the stage again for SNL Season 50.

Speaking to the talk show host, Samberg shared, “I have to say, it was fun. It was really fun to go back.” He went on to say, “But again, inheriting, re-inheriting the stress of it and thinking, ‘Oh yeah, this is very intense,’ is also an important part of the experience.”

In addition to playing Emhoff, Andy also appeared as the iconic character Beetlejuice alongside Michael Keaton, who hosted the episode on October 19.

The actor went on to add that he didn’t have a lead role in the Beetlejuice episode, but once he walked on stage, it gave him the energy of the main cast.

Samberg explained: “At the last show I thought, If this Beetlejuice thing doesn’t work, I’ll just be here and not do anything. you are always in danger.”

In addition to Andy, Keaton was joined by Mikey Day, who also appeared in the frame in a Beetlejuice costume and jokingly invited the Hollywood actor to voice his character.

Samberg’s contract with SNL was a little unusual. Other actors and comedians are expected to give funny performances, but his deal includes digital shorts and comedic music videos with his band The Lonely Island.

On the work front, Andy Samberg last appeared in the war drama Lee opposite Kate Winslet.
