LinkedIn, however, may not be the best place for this.

James Watt, co-founder of Brewdog, chose LinkedIn – a social network for working professionals – to announce his engagement to former reality TV star and influencer Georgia Toffolo. As required by the site, Watt announced the engagement using corporate jargon.

“I got a really cool deal late last week. This is a long-term contract agreement that appears to secure future growth. Both business and personal,” Watt wrote on LinkedIn, posting a photo of himself and Toffolo showing off their engagement ring. “Lots of mutual investments.”

A screenshot of the ad was posted on X by Ross McCafferty – and it went viral.

“LinkedIn is a disease,” McCafferty said in the post, which has received more than 1.1 million views.

Users of the social network owned by Elon Musk also criticized the publication on LinkedIn.
