The situation with Tyreek Stevenson and the Bears management’s view of their quarterback is obviously much worse than previously thought. According to Fox’s Jay Glazer, Stevenson learned Wednesday that he won’t be starting, and his reaction likely didn’t win him any friends in the locker room.

“On Wednesday, when he found out he wasn’t starting, he actually pulled out of practice,” Glazer told Fox. “It didn’t go over very well in that locker room.”

With the Bears shorthanded in the secondary due to the absence of Jaquan Brisker, Kyler Gordon, and now Stevenson when the game starts, it wouldn’t be a shock if Stevenson ends up getting into the game quickly. Without Montez Sweat, their passing attack will likely suffer. With 60% of their primary secondary education completed, their enrollment is sure to suffer.

If the Bears don’t give up two touchdowns at some point early, it will be amazing.

This week, Caleb Williams was asked if he thought about just becoming “Superman” and taking over the game. His Twitter page features the Superman logo. Perhaps it’s time for Superman to do something about Sweet and three-fifths of the secondary on defense. They may have to top the Cardinals.

“I don’t think the thought of ‘it’s time to be Superman’ crosses my mind,” Williams said. “I think there are times when you go out and do plays and everyone calls it a Superman play. Based on your reading, there is not a single Superman on the team.

“I think the trust and belief comes from teammates going out there and playing at a high level.”

This is a team sport.

However, they could have used Superman or some other superhero despite all the adversity that befell the team.

Instead of being Superman, perhaps Williams should ask family members to stay off social media. Last week his father caused a scandal. As if the Bears needed another controversy.
