Patriots veteran paid Drake Maye the ultimate compliment after loss to Titans

NASHVILLE — Patriots cornerback Davon Godchaux didn’t want to talk about his team’s weak defense, which regresses on Sunday. defeat with a score of 20-17 Titans, but he lit up when asked about Drake May.

He’s an MVP type player, a Madden cover guy, he deserves everything. He’s a great player, but he didn’t look like it in his rookie season. Drake looks better than Josh did in his first year. I’ll let Drake talk more about it, but damn, he looks amazing, especially when he’s running the ball. I didn’t know that the child had such burners. I’m really excited to play with him and watch him for the next couple of years.”

Godchaux shares the belief that May could attract players who would want to play with him in New England.

The Patriots enter next offseason with more than $100 million in salary cap space and are in desperate need of more playmakers on offense.
