While Florida may be a preferred retirement destination for seniors who enjoy warm weather and beach time, others enjoy snow-capped mountains or fishing trips.

This is according to the latest data from WalletHub. rating of the best places to retire.

Casper, Wyoming has been named one of the most affordable places for Americans to spend their final years.

WalletHub took into account factors such as cost of living, weather, quality of healthcare and the number of museums in a city or nearby fishing spots.

Casper finished ninth overall, the second highest of any Western city on the list.

It was only surpassed by Scottsdale, Arizona, in sixth place.

Casper ranked third among all 180 cities for affordability, which took into account factors such as cost of living, tax optimization, cost of home services and cost of adult health care.

Wyoming has some of the lowest taxes in the country and one of the lowest per capita tax burdens, which is an advantage for retirees on fixed incomes.

The Equality State does not have an individual income tax, which allows seniors to keep most of their earnings, and there is no estate or estate tax.

Casper is home to about 59,000 people, about 16 percent of whom are age 65 or older, according to the Census Bureau.

The cost of living in a Western city is lower than the national average, as is the price of the average home.

The typical property in the city costs $290,928, compared to the national average of $359,892, according to Zillow.

Casper residents also have access to quality health care through Banner Wyoming Medical Center, the largest hospital in the state.

But the main advantage of Casper is its potential for outdoor activities.

Casper Mountain is crisscrossed with over 50 miles of trails that keep residents active, and locals also enjoy camping and archery.

Hogadon Ski Resort, a short drive from the city center, is a family-friendly resort with plenty of trails and a lodge where skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels can practice their favorite winter sports, the outlet reported.

Also in the top 10 places to retire, according to WalletHub, are Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and St. Petersburg in Florida.

Cincinnati, Ohio also made the top ten, along with Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Like Casper, Minneapolis is among the coldest cities in the United States, with particularly harsh winters.

But Minneapolis has all seasons, and the city’s summers aren’t too hot, with temperatures averaging around 80°F.

The city’s friendly atmosphere, high-quality hospital system, beautiful surroundings and strong cultural life earned the city third place in the ranking.
