Other financial matters approved included a decision to participate in the Ohio Cooperative Purchasing Agreement. The trustees attributed their decision to participate in the agreement, which allows municipalities to obtain favorable prices for goods and services by participating in government contracts, to future savings for the city, and appointed the chairman of the Board of Trustees (currently Trustee John Bricker). , as the City’s designated agent for the program.

Trustees also discussed potential repairs to the Bricker Park Bridge. Road foreman Matt Springer said the repairs could be completed with $3,500 in materials. Trustee Shawn Mesler spoke with the Mahoning County Engineering Department about the transition from new pavement on Duck Creek Road to residents’ access roads. The township was going to shoulder the additional costs of making the transition smoother. After making changes, the cost of the project will remain within the engineer’s estimate.

Mesler worked with Cardinal Electric to determine what size generator would be suitable as a backup for the township administration building.

Bricker met with generator specialists to get an estimate for a backup generator for the office building. Jason Smith had to check the building’s heating system.

Trustees reminded residents of the annual statewide burn ban from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the month of November.

Trustees discussed postponing their next regular meeting due to a scheduling conflict with Chief Financial Officer Michel Barrat, but ultimately decided to maintain the regular date and will meet next Nov. 12 at 6 p.m.
