Vice President Kamala Harris makes her 11th campaign stop in Michigan

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILKES) – Vice President Kamala Harris made a campaign stop here in East Lansing on Sunday with the election just days away. Talking about topics like abortion, young voters and the war in Gaza.

“Hello, Michigan,” Kamala Harris said.

The race for president is drawing closer with Election Day just days away. Vice President Kamala Harris makes her 11th trip to Michigan and opens her speech with remarks about the war between Israel and Hamas.

“This year has been difficult, given the scale of death and destruction in Gaza, as well as civilian casualties and displacement in Lebanon, it is devastating, and as President I will do everything in my power to end the war in Gaza,” Harris said.

Harris, along with Representative Elissa Slotkin and several Michigan State students, gathered at Michigan State’s Jenison Fieldhouse on Sunday. Calling this campaign “Stop,” “Get Out the Vote” as they encourage voters, especially the younger generation, to come out and vote on Election Day.

“As a student and first-time voter, I am looking for someone who will fight for me, my future and everyone else in this room. Not only themselves,” said the MSU graduate student.

During her speech, Harris said it was time for a new generation of leaders in America.

“We have momentum because our campaign taps into the ambitions, aspirations and dreams of the American people because we are optimistic and excited about what we can do together,” Harris said.

Harris ends her campaign in Michigan with this message…

“In this election, we have the opportunity to finally turn the page on decades of politics based on fear and division,” Harris said. “And America is ready. America is ready to start over. Ready for a new path forward.”

Kamala Harris is expected to end her campaign in Pennsylvania on Monday with rallies in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. While her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will be in Michigan.
