Former Eagles react to Nick Sirianni’s decisions and Saquon Barkley’s obstruction

Eagles defeat the Jaguars, 28-23on Sunday in a game that wasn’t nearly as close as it seemed. The Birds extended their winning streak to four straight, but no game is without drama. Nakobe Dean sealed the win with his first career interception, but several questionable calls from Nick Sirianni and officials still gave fans – and former players – something to talk about during and after the game.

Despite the victory, Sirianni earned criticism for leaving 12 points on the board. The Birds attempted two-point conversions three times, but were unable to convert one. They also went for it twice, twice on fourth down inside the Jaguars’ 30-yard line instead of going for short field goals, which they also failed to convert.

While many criticized Sirianni’s decisions, former Birds quarterback Chris Long could only sit back and admire the Eagles coach.

“One day I will tell my grandchildren about Nick Sirianni,” Long said. on his Green light podcast. “You should have seen him. It was like you grabbed someone from a bleacher six Miller Lights deep and said, ‘Go train your heart,’ for good and for ill.”

Luckily for Sirianni, both protection of eagles And their skill as offensive players made Sunday a happy one for the crowd at Lincoln Financial Field.

DeVonta Smith’s touchdown was “beautiful.” If the situation were more serious, you would build a statue. It’s a great freeze frame,” Long said. AND Obstacle Saquon Barkley was “one of the wildest things I’ve seen in my entire life.”

On the sidelines during the game was LeSean McCoy, who was honored as the newest member of the Eagles Hall of Fame.I also couldn’t contain my excitement for Barkley.

“Sakon, this man is going crazy now!” McCoy said this after Barkley broke a run during his interview on CBS.

Earlier in the game, McCoy was in the perfect spot to see Barkley’s touchdown near the end of the first half.
