Minnesota forward Wild Spiper will join the US team

The clock is ticking and international teams must make lists for the upcoming Four Nations match, and the Minnesota Wild could have a sleeper player on their roster. The Wild’s roster isn’t exactly loaded with superstar talent, but one 23-year-old forward could earn his right to represent Team USA.

In 11 games during the 2024-25 season, Boldy has six goals and seven assists for a total of 13 points and could easily set career highs in nearly every offensive category. That result alone is enough for Elliott Friedman to name Boldy an easy pick for Team USA in the 4 Nations Face-Off.

It helps that Wild president and general manager Bill Guerin is also Team USA’s general manager and has a lot of influence on the team’s formation.

“Can you imagine Bill Guerin leaving Boldy off the USA Four Nations team?” Friedman asked podcast “32 thoughts”. “Some people said, ‘Do you think Boli can do it?’ I thought, “I wish Guerin hadn’t directed it.”

Boldy helped the Wild to a stellar overtime finish over the Toronto Maple Leafs. He sealed the win with a perfect move, defeating Anthony Stolarz and improving the Wild to 8-1-2, which sits atop the Central Division.

Heading into the Four Nations showdown, Team USA looks to be the favorite with the deepest roster on the international team. perhaps ever seen. The likes of Auston Matthews, the Tkachuk brothers and the Hughes brothers will undoubtedly lead the way, but there is still room to add other big names.

Boldy is performing well at the start of the 2024/25 season. His 13 points are second in the division, behind only Kirill Kaprizov, who has 21 points. The 2024-25 season is Boldy’s fourth in the NHL and he has shown impressive talent since his debut.

In 214 games, Boldy scored 81 goals and 103 assists for 184 points.

With Gueren making Team USA and Boldy impressing every night as the leader of the Wild offense, Guerin will have a tough time not counting Boldy represent red, white and blue.
