Two people, including a Delhi Police constable, died after an out-of-control DTC bus crashed into a divider near Monastery Market on the Ring Road in New Delhi.

“An out-of-control DTC bus hit a person and a police officer from Civil Lines Police Station and crashed into a divider near Monastery Market on Ring Road. Unfortunately, both the victims succumbed. Both were declared brought dead. The driver of the DTC bus, Vinod Kumar, a resident of Ghazipur (57), is in custody police said the bus was in a state of disrepair and there were no passengers except one DTC officer,” Delhi Police said in a statement on Tuesday.

23 people died after a bus fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand

Earlier on Monday, at least 23 people were killed in a fatal road accident in Uttarakhand’s Almora district. The accident occurred after the bus fell into a deep gorge in Almora.

22 people died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries when he was taken to a hospital in Ramnagar, Almora district disaster management officer Vinit Pal said.

The bus was traveling from Pauri to Ramnagar when the accident occurred at Marchula in Almora, district magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey added.

The bus was carrying about 40 passengers when it fell into the 200-metre deep gorge, Pandey said.
