UNC Basketball Reveals First Starting Five for 2024-25 Season

The 2024-25 UNC basketball team, which has one of the most impressive backcourts in the country in sophomore general Elliot Cado and graduate shooting guard RJ Davis, opens its campaign against visiting Elon Phoenix at the Dean E. Smith Center at 21: 00 ET on Monday. (ACC Network).

Ahead of the game, Hubert Davis’ fourth as head coach of the Tar Heels, North Carolina Tar Heels On SI confirmed UNC basketball’s first starting lineup of the season.

Of course, the cast includes regular 2023-24 starters Elliot Cado and R.J. Davis, the reigning ACC Player of the Year.

Here’s the full starting five for the defending ACC regular season champions against Phoenix, which includes two juniors and another senior, plus Cado and Davis:

Hubert Davis brings his 78-31 overall record, including an ACC regular-season title last season and an appearance in the 2022 National Championship Game, into his fourth campaign at the helm.

After the battle with Elon, UNC basketball, ranked No. 9 in the preseason AP Top 25 poll, will prepare for a highly anticipated road showdown with No. 1 Kansas at the Jayhawks’ famed Allen Fieldhouse at 7 pm ET on Friday (ESPN2).
