Spell offside after broken collarbone

Spell offside after broken collarbone

I didn’t need a reminder of the ups and downs that my job can bring, but I had another one this week.

After the excitement of being part of Saturday’s 1000th winner of my Ayr career, I now face some time away from the game.

I broke my collarbone on Monday in a terrible accident at Henry De Bromhead’s school and will be seeing a specialist on Wednesday.

I’ll know more after I see him, but it was really disappointing to be away for a few months towards the end of last season.

All the hard work that went into getting back into shape felt so worth it when Ottizzini won at the weekend – now I need to be ready to do it all again.

But I will, there is so much to look forward to this season and some great horses to ride.

Time-wise it sucks, but I’ll be led by a medical team and I’ll do my best to get back as soon as possible.
