The star’s sister spoke about this. Star Tribune in June, she last spoke to him four days before his death.

“He continued to avoid questions. I kept getting angry,” Nelson said. “I felt, ‘Talk to me for two seconds.’ He would change the subject, make a joke, and then we would both laugh. He asked me if I could find more information about our family. Prince wanted me to find (half-sister) Sharon’s number. I didn’t ask myself this question. It was something like, “Send this photo to this person.” FINE. For what?”

Nelson also said she didn’t realize how popular her brother was until after he died.

So now you’re going to make me cry.

Nelson and Prince also had five half-siblings: Sharon, Norrin And John (died 2021) Nelson, Alfred Jackson (died 2019) and Omarr Baker.
