South Staffs Water also informed customers on Monday that electrical repairs to Dick Sheppard Avenue in Tipton and Leebrook Road in Wednesbury had been completed and apologized for any inconvenience caused.

A post on Dick Sheppard Avenue said: “We recently fixed a broken main on Dick Sheppard Avenue in Tipton.

“Following the explosion on Leebrook Road in Wednesbury on November 3, there was a separate explosion on Dick Sheppard Avenue.

“When surges occur, we use the rest of our network to support the affected area, which can have knock-on effects.

“We repaired the main line, and now the supply has been restored.

“We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.”

In Leabrook Road, Wednesbury, a water supplier reported that the main break had been repaired and said that although the water may appear milky white, cloudy or brown/orange, it was safe to drink.

The message said: “We have repaired a mains break on Lybrook Road, some customers in Wednesbury, Bloxwich and Darlaston (WS3, WS4, WS10, DY4 and B62) may be experiencing cloudy or milky white water.

“This is most likely due to many tiny air bubbles being introduced into the water supply following recent changes in flow and pressure, which temporarily changed the appearance of the water.

“Please don’t worry, the air is harmless, so the water is completely safe to drink.
