“TDN Rising Star” Ramatuelle (Justify) is set to retire to the paddock after being purchased by Coolmore for $5.1 million at the Fasig-Tipton November sale on Monday.

Trained by Christopher Head for owners including NBA Hall of Famer Tony Parker, Ramatuelle won four of her nine career starts and was last seen making her breakthrough at the top level with a convincing victory in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp before being withdrawn from participating in the tournament. The three-year-old was one of the top lots when she came through the ring at Fasig Tipton on Monday, and winning bidder MV Magnier indicated the filly will now visit Wootton Bassett (UK) together with Opera singer (Justify), winner of the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac and G1 Nassau Stakes, who also retired.

Magner told the Fasig-Tipton X account: “We also had to retire Opera Singer, so I think we’ll send the two of them to Wootton Bassett next year.

“Either way, that’s what the guys want to do at the moment, so I’d say that’s probably what’s going to happen.”
