Apple News provides support for live coverage of the 2024 US presidential election, allowing iPhone and iPad users to track election results in real time right from their lock screen.

This feature will be available to users in the US through Election Day, November 5th, and will provide ongoing vote count updates. So if you’re interested, you don’t have to constantly check news sites or unlock your device.

If you have an iPhone 14 Pro or later with iOS 16.1 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 17 or later, you can enable this feature through the Apple News app. Pre-setup ensures you won’t miss any updates when coverage starts. Open the Apple News app and when prompted, click the prominent “Follow Live” button.

When active, the live stream will appear as an interactive widget on your lock screen – you can quickly access detailed information with a single tap. For iPhone 14 Pro and newer models, updates will also appear in the dynamic island at the top of the screen even if you’re doing something else on your iPhone.
