“I almost gave it away”

“I almost gave it away”

The Kansas City Chiefs pulled off a thrilling overtime win in the pouring rain on Monday Night Football. The Arrowhead Stadium crowd cheered on its stars, including tight end Travis Kelce, who had a career night.

Following the 30–24 win, Kelce sat down with ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt, recapping his 100-yard, fourteen-catch night in front of the Chiefs Kingdom fans. He immediately corrected his mistake in the first half, stopping a promising game.

“I almost passed it today and I was lucky to have my guys there for me,” Kelce said. “It’s culture, man. It’s a culture that started with the big man (Andy Reid) and everyone always believes we’ll do it because we’ve done it in the past. We continue to do this at night, like today. I’ll tell you what when Arrowhead (Stadium) rocks like it did tonight. Man, it’s hard to lose in this place.

The Chiefs have now won a record fourteen straight games dating back to last season, and Kelce and his teammates credit the winning culture.
