Walkthrough of Dragon Age Veilguard The Warden Vault

Guardian Vault is a side quest that can be found in the Riven Coast region in Dragon Age: Guardian of the Veil.

The quest consists of several short puzzles that you need to solve in order to open three locks, which give you access to the vault itself, containing many useful items. awards – including a ring of unique rarity.

Solving the Guardian Vault 1 puzzle

To solve the first Guardian Vault puzzle, you need to light three torches in the correct order, interact with the level on the top floor of the Guardian Castle, then hit the switch inside the small room to open the first lock.

Three torches are located on the small path down the stairs south of the Fast Travel Beacon, located near the main part of the Keeper’s Castle.

If you haven’t touched them yet, the correct solution to the torch puzzle is:

• Medium torch
• Left torch
• Right light
• Medium torch

Once you touch them, all you have to do is keep pressing the switches until all three flames light up at the same time.

With the torches lit, go up the stairs to the south, use Davrin’s ability (or Rook’s lyrium dagger) to lower the wooden pallet, then climb the pallet to the top floor of the Guardian’s Castle. Then activate the lever next to the small metal gate and go inside to open the first lock of the Guardian Vault.

It’s also a good idea to activate the lever outside this room to raise the main gate of the Overseer’s Keep so you don’t have to take this path every time you want to get inside.

Solving the Guardian Vault 2 puzzle

To solve the second Vault of the Guardians puzzle, you need to go outside of Castle Bailey, just outside the south side of the Castle of the Guardians, then look west and use Taash’s ability (or Rook’s lyrium dagger) to destroy the red pot and lower the stairs.

Then go up the stairs, grab the wisp at the top, quickly go back through the south door to the Keeper’s Castle and immediately turn left. Walk past the training dummies and up the stairs in the back, where the light will automatically return to its position and open a door leading to a small room where you can open the second Overseer’s Vault lock.

Solving the Guardian Vault 3 puzzle

This is the most difficult step in the side quest, as to solve the third and final Guardian Vault puzzle you need to find four spirits in and around the Guardian’s Castle in the correct order.

Here’s where you can find all the Castle Guardian spirits:

Spiritual location 1

The first spirit is in the small corridor between the north and south sides of the Keeper’s Castle, near the grave on the floor. Explore the grave to get the spirit to move, then move on to the next location.

Spiritual location 2

The second spirit is inside the alcove opposite the wooden palette you used to initially get into the Keeper’s Castle. Examine the skeleton to free the spirit and move on to the third location.

Spiritual location 3

The third spirit is on the path near the main northern entrance to Keeper’s Castle, near the Fast Travel Beacon. Once again you will have to explore it to free the spirit before you can move on to the final location.

Spiritual location 4

The fourth and final spirit is in the southern corner of the main room of the Guardian’s Castle, south of the stairs leading to the vault.

Enter the spirit to have it go through the wall and reveal the location of the final lock. If this is the last puzzle you solved, you can now go to the caretaker’s vault downstairs to claim your rewards.
