Courtenay, France, is vying to represent Connecticut’s 2nd District

NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) – There are two primary candidates in the race to represent Connecticut’s Second District.

Incumbent Democrat Joe Courtney faces Republican challenger Mike France.

Green Party candidate Kevin Blacker was also on the ballot.

Courtney and France discussed back on October 10.

The area is quite large. It occupies almost the entire eastern part of the state.

The last Republican to hold the seat was Rep. Rob Simmons, who lost in 2007.

Courtney said his priorities include fighting inflation.

France said its priorities also included fighting inflation and said different policies were needed to achieve that.
