2024 Senate election results

Voters in 33 states will vote for one of two U.S. senators, and voters in Nebraska will vote for both Senate seats. Democrats currently hold a slim majority in the Senate, with 47 Democrats and four independents joining them. Republicans are trying to win control of the House, and the transition would require them to flip only two seats while keeping all their seats. The GOP believes it has an advantage in this election because more vulnerable Democrats are on the ballot, including in Ohio, a conservative state, and Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, swing states. Republicans are also expected to win the election in West Virginia, where Joe Manchin has decided not to run for re-election. A Democrat after being elected, Manchin subsequently registered as an independent candidate.
