Missing 19-year-old college student found dead in national park

GRAND JUNCTION, COCCTV/Gray News) – Authorities in Colorado say the search for a missing college student has come to a tragic end.

The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death of 19-year-old Dallas Roberts over the weekend.

The Colorado Mesa University student was last seen alive Oct. 28 driving into the Black Canyon area of ​​Gunnison National Park, authorities said.

Park rangers said while searching for the 19-year-old, they found his vehicle crashed about 150 feet off the road and down a hill in the park.

Montrose County officials contacted public assistance to find Roberts after rangers failed to find him at the crash site.

Authorities called off the search last Saturday after crews reported finding Roberts’ body.

No further information was available about the college student’s death.
