4-year-old kidnapped boy rescued in Hyderabad; one carried out

HYDERABAD: A four-year-old boy, kidnapped from a hospital on Monday, was rescued by Afzalgunj police as his abductor was about to board a train at Dabirpura station on Tuesday.

The accused, a 35-year-old man, was detained by police and the boy was reunited with his mother.

The incident came to light after the boy’s mother filed a missing person’s report with the police on Monday evening. According to the complainant, her husband is an alcoholic and took acid three months ago due to marital problems. He was undergoing treatment at OGH and visited the hospital along with his son around 11 am. When the couple did not return home even at 6 pm, the mother went to the hospital and found her husband lying in the waiting room in a drunken state and her son missing.

She approached the police, who formed search parties, tracked the boy at the Dabirpura flyover and rescued him at the station.
