Frank Luntz Says Trump Will Likely Get Five SCOTUS Elections

Questionnaire Frank Luntz warned during NewsNation’s election coverage Tuesday that former President Donald Trump winning the presidential race means he will likely select a total of five Supreme Court justices.

Luntz joined Chris CuomoElizabeth Vargas and Leland Wittert on Tuesday as election results approached and Decision Desk HQ called Trump the winner in swing states like Georgia and North Carolina, leaving the vice president Kamala Harris relying on states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin to make a difference. With the Senate also leaning toward the paint, Luntz noted that a Trump win with the Senate in his favor would make a number of things easier for him, including gaining more influence over who ultimately ends up on the Supreme Court.

“Supreme Court, when the Senate turns red and Trump is more than likely to be elected at this point – still not a sure thing – but if he is elected, he will get the appointment, and when the Senate goes Republican, whoever he wants will go end up on the Supreme Court,” Luntz said. “That’s about as much influence as you can have on this election night because there are a couple of judges who will probably retire in the next year or two.”

He did not predict who he thought the retiring judges would be. Trump has previously nominated Supreme Court justices Brett Kavanaugh, Neil GorsuchAnd Amy Coney Barrett. After their appointments long ago Roe v. Wade was cancelled.

Senate control Luntz added, helps Trump promote his economic policies, such as raising tariffs.

“If he has the Senate, it becomes easier for him to put forward his economic policies, and some of them don’t even require a vote of Congress, but if you do, that tariff policy probably won’t come out. into the game,” he said.
