SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan will undergo surgery to repair a fractured left thumb he suffered in Monday night’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Sochan broke his proximal phalanx when he crashed into a screen near the Clippers bench late in the second quarter. He left the game with 3:31 left in the first half and did not return.

San Antonio will update its status following surgery.

The Spurs led by 26 points in the first quarter with Socan on the floor, but the Clippers rallied in the second half to earn their first win in their new home, the Intuit Dome.

Baylor third-year forward Socan is averaging career-highs in points (15.7) and rebounds (7.7).
