Penn Yan’s StarShine and the Lights on Wheels Parade will team up for a one-night celebration

The StarShine Committee has announced that this year’s StarShine Celebration and the Lights on Wheels Parade will take place together on Saturday, December 7th, marking a change from the traditional two-day event. All StarShine events will be moved to the Yates County courtyard rather than Main Street.

This year’s Lights on Wheels parade will follow an expanded route, starting on East Main Street near the Yates County Fairgrounds and ending on North Main Street in front of the Yates Community Center. The committee hopes that combining these activities will ease the demands on volunteers while improving the quality of life for the community.

Favorite StarShine traditions such as visits with Santa, elf school and tractor rides will continue while efforts are being made to encourage participants to explore downtown shops and restaurants during the celebration. More information about promotional events for Main Street businesses will be announced soon.
