Review of Amazon Prime Video’s AI-powered X-rays now available

Amazon Prime Video has launched X-Ray Reviews, allowing users to get a sneak peek at their favorite TV shows without revealing spoilers. Using generative AI technology, X-ray reviews provide audiences with personalized, context-specific highlights. This approach aims to improve user experience and interaction time.

With the launch of online subscription platforms, the era of waiting in front of the TV to watch your favorite TV shows is over. Users subscribe to these platforms to enjoy an endless and seamless viewing experience of videos including movies, TV shows, sports, live streaming and more. Since many such platforms have created a need for survival as the fittest becomes necessary, as a result, companies are planning to implement features to stand out from their competitors.

Prime Video, Amazon’s subscription platform, has developed an innovative approach to increase user engagement by allowing users to get a quick summary of their favorite show that they missed or lost track of. An innovative feature called X-Ray Review is an artificial intelligence-powered technology that helps users catch up without revealing spoilers. The personalized recap engine allows users who have broken the continuity of a show, whether at the beginning of an episode, mid-show, or post-season X-ray recap, to resume the flow without being distracted.

“Lack of continuity has been a major problem faced by users while streaming their favorite shows. Using the X-ray replay mechanism, this problem can be solved,” said Adam Gray, vice president of Prime Video.

The X-ray survey is performed using generative artificial intelligence tools based on Amazon Sagemaker technology, known as Amazon Bedrock. It analyzes the content and dialogues and gives accurate descriptions without wasting any point and also without revealing any spoilers. Audiences can access Xray’s summary system directly or from the video’s highlights page. They can choose what they want to view and what information they want to disclose.

A beta version of X-Ray View is available for devices connected to Amazon Fire TV in the US, and you can expect additional supporting devices to arrive by the end of the year. Currently, the X-ray feature can be used on Amazon originals including Upload, Daisy Jones and the Six, Mister Jones. and Mrs. Smith”, “The Wheel of Time” and “The Boys”. The recap will be provided before the part the user last watched, which means it completely eliminates the possibility of any spoilers.

Often people use various online sites to get video and text reviews, which are difficult to find and there is a high chance of seeing spoilers. This makes people less interested in continuing to watch their favorite shows. The new X-ray repeater eliminates this problem and provides users with a personalized viewing experience.

To use the Amazon Prime service, the user will have to pay $14.99 per month or $139 per year. You can stream Prime videos in 4K and HDR, and download videos with your Prime membership. With Music Prime, you can listen to more than 100 million songs from Amazon’s music library.
