SAC COUNTY, Iowa (KTIV) – The Sac County Sheriff’s Office’s proposed $10.95 million bond doesn’t get enough votes to pass, meaning there won’t be a new law enforcement center.

Voters in Sac County, Iowa, have passed a multimillion-dollar bond to help pay for the construction of a new law enforcement center. About 59% of voters voted for him, but he needed 60% of the vote, so he did not pass.

County officials say the current Sac County, Iowa Law Enforcement Center is outdated and inadequate. The current prison is 85 years old, making it the second oldest prison in the state.

Sac County Sheriff Ken McClure issued a statement after nearly $11 million in bail payments failed.

If the vote had been successful, the new Law Enforcement Center would have been built in two phases.
