The Clintons have been ardent supporters of Harris throughout her presidential campaign this year. On Democratic National ConventionHillary fiercely supported the vice president, speaking“I wish my mom and Kamala’s mom could see us. They will probably say: “Keep going.” And Jerry would say, “Keep going.” Women fighting for reproductive health say, “Keep going.” Families seeking a better life, parents struggling to afford child care, young people struggling to pay rent—they all ask us to keep going.”

Bill, meanwhile, endorsed Harris while making clear his disagreement with Trump’s values.

“In 2024, I think we have a pretty clear choice: Kamala Harris for the people. And another guy who proved even more than the first detour that he is about me, about me and about me,” the former president said. “I know what option I like best for our country: Kamala Harris will solve problems, seize opportunities, ease our fears, and ensure that every American, no matter how they vote, has a chance to achieve their dreams.”

He added that Trump “has been a model of consistency. He still divides, he still blames, he still puts other people down. He creates chaos and then sort of curates it as if it were precious art.” In contrast, Bill said, Harris has “the vision, the experience, the temperament, the will—and yes, the obvious joy of getting something done.”
