GREEN BAY – Green Bay Packers completed a tense nine-week stretch of games with lost 24-14 against an NFC opponent Detroit Lions.

Now it’s time to take a breath.

Packers are in their a week so far and many players are planning to take advantage of this and leave the football field.

“Just coming home, relaxing and spending time with my family,” he said. Packers defensive lineman Kingsley Enagbare, a Georgia native. “Give your body some rest.”

Added Packers wide receiver Christian Watson, who grew up in Florida: “I’m moving back home because it’s my nephew’s birthday this weekend. I’ll go home and spend time with my family. Lean back, relax and tuck your legs under you a little.”

While the Packers were disappointed with Sunday’s result, which included many self-inflicted wounds, they have a 6-3 record and have been relatively healthy all season. However, recently the injuries have started piling up.

Cornerback Jaire Alexander, safety Evan Williams and center Josh Myers were notable starters who missed the Packers’ game against the Lions.

Defenseman Jordan Love was active but was nursing a groin injury. Running back Josh Jacobs has a broken ankle. Rest and recovery are critical.

“I just want my body back,” Packers tight end Tucker Kraft said. “I’ll get into the best shape possible. It’s been nine long weeks so I’ll try to get my body back and get back to playing some really physical football.”

While Jacobs is rebuilding his body, he is building a house. He also plans to fulfill an important family commitment.

“I’m going to check out my house in Miami. I’m building a house now, so I want to check it out,” he said. “Probably taking my daughter to the beach. She asked – her birthday is on Halloween – I’ll probably do that.”

Many players admitted they didn’t think much about the bye week because all the attention was on the Lions. They intend to make sure their bodies are ready for the finish line of the regular season.

Green Bay has eight regular-season games remaining, including a trip to the Chicago Bears, another blow to the Lions and the Minnesota Vikings.
