Outer Banks Season 5: Release Date Rumors and Latest News

The series picks up steam as we follow the Pogues on their treasure-filled journey through North Carolina and see the villains they face in the process.

But with the good news comes some bad news: Outer Banks season five will be the show’s last and will fully embody the original vision for the series as laid out by co-creators Shannon Burke, Josh Pate and Jonas Pate.

We’re confident that the new season will be full of familiar faces and will cap things off well after the special feature-length finale airs this week.

But when will Outer Banks season 5 release and who will be returning? Read on to find out everything we know so far.

Will there be an Outer Banks season 5?

Yes! The news was confirmed before the release of the 2nd part of the 4th season on Netflix, but The fifth season will be the final season of the series.

Announcing the news, co-authors Shannon Burke, Josh Pate and Jonas Pate said in a joint statement: “Seven years ago, in the summer of 2017, we came across a photo of teenagers on a beach at dusk during a blackout. The photo sparked the idea for a story about four best friends who just want to have a good time all the time.

“From the beginning, we envisioned a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey filled with adventure, treasure hunting and friendship.

“At the time, seven years ago, it seemed impossible that we would actually be able to tell the full story of five seasons, but here we are at the end of our fourth season, still going strong.”

They continued: “Season four was our longest and hardest yet most rewarding to work with. The season ends with a feature-length episode that we feel is our best and strongest episode yet. We hope you feel the same.

“Now, it is with a little sadness, but also excitement, that we leave Season 4 behind us and move on to Season 5, in which we hope to bring our beloved Pogs home the way we imagined and planned them all those years ago.

“Season 5 will be our last season and we think it will be our best. We hope you’ll join us for another surf ride.”

After the release of the third season, Josh Pate spoke THUDUM: “We have some big ideas that we’re still working on.”

But he also confirmed that the final ending of Outer Banks is something that all the writers feel the same way about.

He said, “We always knew from the beginning what the last scene would be if we were lucky enough to get this far,” adding that there was “a lot of dark, empty space” before reaching that final moment. .

Of course, with a fifth season already confirmed, we’ll just have to wait and see what that finale will look like.
