JOHANNESBURG — Taps in many Johannesburg suburbs will run dry due to planned water cuts from Tuesday 12 November 2024.

Joburg Water said it was turning off taps to carry out essential maintenance work, affecting customers in Soweto and other suburbs.

The organization further noted that the outage was due to upgrades to the main pressure reduction valve (PRV) chamber and water supply to the Meadowlands reservoir and tower.

“The WhatsApp groups of all councilors receive regular updates on the deployment of tankers in the regions (and) our team is working around the clock to mitigate this issue,” Morero said.
